Warsaw 1944 Uprising Museum

Today we walked from our very nice apartment to the 1944 Uprising Museum. This included walking through the Old Town, which is very attractive.

The walk took us through modern districts with banks and rather expensive looking cafés, and much more run-down areas completely free of cafés!

The museum is very well done, telling the story of the 1944 Warsaw uprising from the Polish point of view. With the aid of an audio guide in English we were able to hear the story, which took about two hours. There were lots of artefacts and some film footage, all spread over three floors in what was once a power station for the town's trams.

After we'd walked back, a beer insisted on our consumption, and now it's relaxing time before the evening wander to choose amongst the many restaurants very near here.

More white beer, now we've learnt to ask for 'clear beer'!
